I ordered the Fire TV the day it was released, and while it does have most of the popular streaming apps, and a decent set of games – some you can play with the included remote, and some require the game controller which is sold separately for $39. HBO Now App And to coincide with that announcement, HBO, in partnership with Apple, announced a standalone streaming app called HBO Now that will be available to Apple customers starting in April – which will be before the premiere of season 5 of Game of Thrones. Note: There’s a limit on how low of a resolution display you can use. To use Windows 8 apps at all, you need a minimum of 1024 x 768.
