Vaccination Locations

To offer up-to-date mapping information on COVID-19 vaccination locations, Google and Apple have turned to VaccineFinder.org, a site from Boston Children’s Hospital that helps connect people with resources. Vaccine supplies remain limited and you must schedule an appointment to get a shot.

Google Maps

The vaccine finder initiative from Google went online in late January in select U.S. states. It’s now available throughout the country and is making its way to other countries in dozens of languages. To find a location through the Google Maps app: Google provides the address, the phone number to call to schedule an appointment and current hours for each location. It also offers driving directions from your location and website information, when available.  Expanded map information is also available.

Similar information is available by visiting Google Maps on a web browser. Type “covid vaccine” in the Search box.

Apple Maps

In Apple’s mapping app, follow these directions to find current vaccination locations near you: Like Google Maps, Apple Maps provides information about each vaccination location, including driving directions, hours of operation, address, and phone number. Where applicable, there’s also a link to make an appointment. Scrolling down, you can find similar businesses in the same location.

Currently, Apple doesn’t offer a web-based Maps app. However,  besides iPhone and iPad, Macs also have a Maps app. To find vaccination locations near you, use the app’s search functionality.

COVID-19: Where Things Stand

To date, the U.S. government has approved three COVID-19 vaccines on an emergency basis, including the two-shot Moderna COVID Vaccine, two-shot Pfizer-BioNTech COVID Vaccine, and Johnson & Johnson’s one-shot Janssen COVID Vaccine. Other vaccines could be approved by the U.S. in the coming weeks and months. Each state has its own rules on who qualifies for a vaccination. Regardless of the manufacturer, these vaccinations are available for free. For more information on COVID-19, visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website at CDC.gov.
