The Priority Inbox serves as your own personal E-Mail secretary – It decides what kind of priority to assign to each E-mail ad then brings the important email to your attention while buring things its learned is not as important (to you). To try out the Beta version of the service, all you need to do is click the Priority Inbox button at the top right after signing in your Gmail account. Granted the service is still being rolled out slowing to all GMAIL users so if you don’t have the new Priority Inbox, you might need to wait a few days to see it. Fortunately when I logged in, I HAD IT so that means I can share it with all you groovyReaders!
How does it work?
The service categorizes E-mails into important, less important, and starred. Google automatically predicts which E-mails are more important to you based on which you read more often and which you reply to. The service actually works surprisingly well. I was amazed when Google really did bring out the most important E-mail for me at the top of the list.
The service also has a variety of different options and settings too. What I found most interesting is that you can actually override the spam filter and set Gmail to look for important E-mails even in the filtered mail.
The service works really easily and if Google makes a mistake you can even organize your Priority Inbox by yourself.
