First go to the Facebook Timeline developer page. Then click Allow when it asks to access your basic information.
On the next page, click Create App at the upper right corner of the screen.
Now give type in an App Display Name and App Namespace. It doesn’t matter what you enter in either of these fields. You just need to make sure the App Namespace is available. Click Continue.
Enter the correct Captcha security words and click Submit.
If you haven’t verified your account yet, you’ll need to. You can verify it with your cell phone or Credit Card. I recommend using the cell phone method. Click the mobile phone link.
Enter your Country Code and mobile phone number. Click Confirm.
A code will be texted to your phone. Enter in what Facebook sends you and click Confirm.
After verifying your account, the Facebook Developers page comes up. From the menu on the left, click Open Graph.
On the next screen, type anything you want into the the two available fields. Again, it doesn’t matter what you type in. Click Get Started. You don’t need to enter anything in the next screen, just scroll to the bottom and click Save Changes and Next.
The same applies for the following screen. Just scroll down and click Save and Finish.
Now, on the Open Graph screen. You don’t need to do anything on this screen either. Open a new tab in your browser and go to your Facebook homepage.
Check your Profile and wait until the invite for the Facebook Timeline shows up. It can take several minutes until you see it. When it appears, click Get It Now.
There you are. Now you can start exploring what the Facebook Timeline feature has to offer.
There is quite a bit going on with the Facebook Timeline. I suggest you start the tour and check out what it has to offer.
Remember, if you do set it up and publish, it will be live. I’ve just started exploring the Facebook Timeline.
