  1. Do you get this error while trying to upgrade iOS 5 on some iPhone 4 devices? Turns out several customers reporting this problem had a Windows 7 juncture point set for backup. Resolution: Copy your backups to another locations and delete the Backup folder/junction point in C:Users[User]AppDataRoamingApple ComputerMobileSyn
  2. Your upgrade is disrupted with an error messages numbered 3,000 or higher. This points to an iTunes problem with contacting Apple servers. Probably due to so many iOS 5 upgrades and authentication. Prescription: Download the latest TinyUmbrella at  http://thefirmwareumbrella.blogspot.com/ Quit iTunes if it is open. Locate your hosts file, in Apple OS X this will always be /etc/hosts In Windows this is c:windowssystem32driversetchostsOpen the hosts file with Administrator privileges in a text editor (Notepad, etc).Add the following line to the end of the hosts file: 74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com Save the hosts file, and close it. Connect your iDevice to your system. Now:

Launch TinyUmbrellaSelect Advanced. Definitely checkmark the box labeled: “Request shsh from …Click on your iDeviceClick Save SHSHOnce iOS 5.0 GM (9A3x) appears in the tab for General. Hit TSS Server.Launch iTunes Restore, relax, don’t worry, be happy. Or is it don’t happy, be worry? Relax. Groovy’s got you covered.
